As the years zip by at increasingly whiplash-inducing speeds, I feel a strange mix of emotions. On one hand, yes, it is indeed a little startling that 2022 has come and gone so quickly. But as I look back on the passing year, I am also amazed at the number of things that occurred, the challenges we faced, the goals we accomplished, and the many things we’ve learned.

All in all, 2022 was a fantastic year for InvGate. Our community of users, developers, and employees is bigger and better than ever. We’ve continued to advance our technology to enable innovation in the world of Service and Asset Management. And we’ve expanded our reach towards new and exciting ways to share our knowledge with the ITSM & ITAM community at large.

Let’s take a look at the year that was, and start to look ahead at what 2023 has in store for us.

InvGate in 2022

2022 was a year of growth for InvGate. And when we say growth, we mean in all directions – our team grew, our product grew, and our mission grew.

But this was not only a mere addition of people. One of our mottos is to build teams, and that’s exactly what we did. We sought people that shared our core values, and we worked hard to integrate them into our structure.

Our products also underwent significant changes for the last year, following global trends in the world of Service and Asset Management and embracing out-of-the-box solutions for our clients’ requests.

As for InvGate Service Management, in June, we took our first steps into Artificial Intelligence based on Machine Learning with the new feature Support Assist. The goal was to make the life of agents that much easier by enhancing their capabilities – now, they have more context to act upon a request, and soon this feature will also be able to predict the end-users behavior.

A bit later, it got a full redesign of its Catalog and Request View. And let’s not forget about integrations! We’ve expanded our capabilities in this department – and will continue to do so in 2023 with the exploration of Low-Code/No-Code workflow integrations.

On the other hand, for InvGate Asset Management it was definitely a year to remember. First, we added essential features like software metering and QR code creation. But we also worked hard to improve our agentless discovery algorithms.

Another big change worth discussing pertains to the very blog where you’re reading this article right now. If you’re a regular, you might have noticed that over the last year, we increased our blog article production tenfold – InvGate has started to position itself as a subject matter expert on topics related not just to ITSM and ITAM, but also to the world of IT in general. Our blog is now a resource for IT leaders and professionals of every stripe, and our increased readership is reflecting that.

Of course, our focus is never too far from our industry. Over the last year, we’ve also been publishing a series of comprehensive guides that deal with big-picture topics that relate to service management. These deep dives explore the intricacies of ITIL and its associated practices, with many more to come.

2022 also marks the year InvGate went multimedia! That’s right, we’ve expanded the scope of our content output beyond the written word. And one of the main ways we did that is by launching our podcast, Ticket Volume. This weekly podcast series is hosted by InvGate Product Specialist Matt Beran. Every week, Matt meets with some of the brightest minds in our industry to discuss various aspects of service management, organizational leadership, and more. Please be sure to give it a listen – you won’t regret it.

Matt has also been hard at work creating a series of videos that explain the ins and outs of our software. Want to learn how our integrations work? Want to see how you can set up your new help desk instance in a matter of minutes? Feel free to peruse our video library on our YouTube channel, where you’ll also find great educational material pertaining to our industry in our InvGate Academy video series.

All in all, 2022 was a year that saw us putting on hats we’d only fantasized about before. Thanks to the continued support of our expanding client base, we’ve been able to increase the scope of our reach and build the community we’ve always wanted.

So, what’s in store for 2023?

There's no denying that we have built strong foundations over the years. We have solid products that solve our customers' problems, and they do so in an effective yet user-friendly way.

But our industry (and technology in general) is in constant motion. So, our goal for 2023 is to keep growing, adding more features, and responding to global trends in the best way we know: by providing innovative products that solve complex needs easily and intuitively.

In particular, we'll be assisting organizations with the adoption of service management concepts in other parts of their enterprise (Enterprise Service Management). Moreover, we'll help them adapt to hybrid work models and secure the digital workplace. Additionally, our product team will continue to grow on automation and Low-Code implementation since they have proven to be the wave of the future.

On the other hand, while 2022 saw the return of in-person events, we are making it a priority to attend more of them during 2023 to ensure that we can get our product out there to as many eyes as possible.

In short, everything that we built in 2022, we want to continue to build upon in 2023. But more than that, we need to keep our ears (and minds) open to our customers needs.

Final thoughts

I mentioned that one of our mottos was “Build teams.” Another one is “Make the complex things simpler.” That has always been our compass, and it’ll continue to be.

We’re proud of the adaptability of our products, and of the fact that they can serve such diverse industries as IT, retail, education, healthcare, and more. We’re proud of the fact that they can be easily escalated to serve small, medium, and large enterprises alike. And when a client tells us that our products made it past the IT department and started being used in areas such as HR, Legal, or Maintenance, it makes our day.

For us, every day brings a new opportunity to be a better company, and have an even better team and product. And it’s also living proof that we’re one step closer to helping another organization, another team, and another person to work more smartly and efficiently.

2022 was a year of expansion for the InvGate team. We’ve grown in all aspects of our company, from everything to our product’s scope all the way to our multimedia presence on various platforms. In 2023, we hope to build on that momentum and keep that winning streak going.
