We're happy to announce that InvGate has recently obtained SOC 2 certification, reinforcing our commitment to data security and compliance. SOC 2 is a rigorous security standard that examines an organization's control objectives and tests how well they are implemented.
Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), it consists of a third-party audit that evaluates how companies around the world handle data privacy.
As you can imagine, this is an important milestone for us — and our clients as well. Let's take a closer look at the certification and its relevance to you.
What is SOC 2 certification?
SOC (Service and Organization Controls) is a set of standards that assesses how well a service organization manages its clients' data. SOC reports are meant to give customers confidence that their data is being handled securely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
There are six SOC report types, but SOC 2 is the most common for technology companies. It focuses on five key areas: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
Due to its nature, it plays a relevant role in:
- Oversight of the organization
- Vendor management programs
- Internal corporate governance and risk management processes
- Regulatory oversight
To obtain SOC 2 certification, we went through a comprehensive audit process conducted by an independent third party.
What SOC 2 certification means for our clients
First and foremost, SOC 2 certification is proof of our commitment to data security. Hence, obtaining this certification gives our clients peace of mind that their information is safe according to industry standards. In addition, SOC 2 certification reinforces our status as a trusted partner for companies in regulated industries.
In general, SOC 2 certification means that:
- We protect our customer data to assess and minimize security risks.
- We'll continue to invest in the security of our systems and processes to abide by regular audits.
We take privacy seriously, and this certification reinforces that compromise. As you can see, SOC 2 certification is a big deal for us, and we're proud to have achieved it.
